The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

A Technician B position is available in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology in a dynamic interactive laboratory studying human and mouse immunology.

Responsibilities



  • Duties include working with laboratory personnel to process human samples for immunological assays, cell culture, and molecular biology techniques and participating in cutting edge research.
  • Other duties include working with the laboratory's mouse colony, including genotyping and mouse dissection
  • Applicant should be comfortable working with both human samples and mice and be organized and able to work independently.
  • Help optimize experimental protocols.
  • Assist with general laboratory duties including managing supply inventory, updating records for sample repositories, and helping to train new members in established protocols when needed.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned/requested.


Minimum Qualifications



  • Requires a bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, physics or related experience or equivalent in education, training and experience


Preferred Qualifications



  • One year of related experience.
  • Basic knowledge of molecular biology or immunology from coursework or equivalent research experience.
