These positions supervise, direct, and coordinate the activities of several caseworkers and the management of caseloads. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a County Casework Supervisor, you will be tasked with overseeing functions of caseworkers of Blair County Children, Youth & Families (BCCYF). Work includes guiding decision-making, ensuring comprehensive investigation and service planning, covering supervised employees' caseloads when needed, and participating in supervising emergency duty. BCCYF supervisors play a vital role as the main support for our caseworkers. You will have the opportunity to mentor caseworkers, collaborate with community stakeholders, and work with the administrative team to lead the agency.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 35 hours weekly
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Rotating emergency duty supervisor coverage for after-hour calls required.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of professional experience in public or private social work and a bachelor's degree with major course work in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and education which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
