About the Job

Job Duties: Lead data analysis efforts in search for new phenomena and/or measurement of particle parameters from experimental collider data. Lead construction, integration, and commissioning efforts for a large, complex particle physics detector. Apply experience to development of future particle physics experiments. Work with graduate students and undergraduate students on data analysis and detector projects.

40% Data analysis and reconstruction technique development
40% Construction, integration, and commissioning of particle physics detectors
20% Communication of research and coordination with other research teams
Other duties of a similar scope as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications PhD or equivalent in experimental high energy physics or a closely related field.

Preferred Requirements: Experience with machine learning techniques as applied to particle physics data analysis, experience with calorimeter or silicon detector readout software and hardware. Experience in working with distributed research groups and demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
