A World-Changing Company
Palantir builds the world's leading software for data-driven decisions and operations. By bringing the right data to the people who need it, our platforms empower our partners to develop lifesaving drugs, forecast supply chain disruptions, locate missing children, and more.
The Role
Palantir's Proposal Team, known internally as the Smiths, seeks a versatile writer and project manager to write winning proposals and secure new commercial contracts.
Smiths work closely with Palantir's business development, engineering, and legal teams to articulate Palantir's value proposition to current and potential customers. We craft compelling documents and web communications that explain how our software addresses critical needs faced by commercial enterprises. On any given day, we're managing several concurrent RFP processes for new customer contracts, triaging new incoming business opportunities, or helping to build a software demo for a potential customer. Smiths also lead a range of business development (BD), capture management, and proposal management efforts. This includes evaluating new opportunities, partnering with others in the BD organization to determine effective pursuit strategies, and overseeing complex, multi-vendor RFP processes.
This role is a unique opportunity to combine expertise in technical writing, project management, and enterprise BD strategy. If you believe in the transformational power of data and technology and in your own ability to illuminate that power through persuasive communication, we want to meet you.

Core Responsibilities
  • Write and manage proposals in collaboration with multiple internal teams to communicate our software products to potential customers, proposal evaluators, and other audiences
  • Develop document templates and self-help resources for internal Palantir teams to more effectively communicate with customers and respond to RFPs
  • Work closely with Palantir's engineering, legal, sales, and leadership teams to shape strategy for U.S. Commercial outreach
  • Develop deep familiarity with Palantir's software platforms and how they can be used to solve a wide range of real-world problems
  • Occasional travel within the United States
What We Value
  • Ability to articulate technical concepts accurately and persuasively to a wide range of personas.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including the ability to lead diverse groups of stakeholders toward a common goal
  • Ability to build and deliver product demonstrations to new and existing customers
  • Strong commercial judgement, including assessing whether we should proceed with a given customer outreach opportunity
  • In-depth knowledge of RFPs, proposals, and procurement
  • Effective design and visual communication skills related to document layout, graphics, and other visuals
What We Require
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Outstanding project management skills, including management of teams of technical and non-technical individuals
  • Demonstrated ability to continuously learn, work independently, and make decisions with minimal supervision
  • Experience writing complex documents such as RFP responses
