Responsibilities

This opportunity is for a position on our Operations Segment (OS) team, supporting the government customer as they manage a development contract to deliver enhancements and new capabilities to a large, planning and scheduling segment. The OS is a critical part of the overall communications architecture, with interfaces to external users, external resource providers and numerous internal segments.

As a SETA role, this position involves working closely with the government customer, development and O&M contractors and both internal and external users to ensure new capabilities meet user requirements and are successfully transitioned into operations. This will involve everything from coordinating the SAFe Agile process to establish software build priorities and content, to witnessing system testing and eventually supporting the readiness process to facilitate transitioning to operations. As system familiarity increases, assignments will take on increasingly complex tasks in an acquisition support role.

Program Description:

With a fresh, new 7-year contract, this program provides SETA (Systems Engineering Technical Advisor) & SE&I (Systems Engineering & Integration) services to an important Intelligence Community (IC) customer with a focus on critical, assured space communications and supporting IT infrastructure. The contract support is part of the customer core team focused on all aspects of the systems engineering life cycle beginning with CONOPS development, where we work directly with users, potentially going into harm's way, who will be dependent on these communications systems. We then capture their requirements and work closely with developers to deliver these essential capabilities. We get involved with setting up and running tests to ensure these cutting-edge capabilities will meet the stringent requirements and then we support transition to operations. Once in operations, our teams work closely with the users to make sure critical operations are successful, providing important information to support critical decisions by policy makers. The program also supports client acquisition strategy, future technology development and modernization efforts.

Program Responsibilities

  • Experienced in applying technical standards, principles, and theories.
  • Technical BS in Engineering, Computer Science or related technical degree.
  • The ability to work well within a team of engineers
  • Demonstrated success in working with government customers.

Desired:

  • Experience with Commercial/Government acquisition of satellite/ground segment hardware/software
  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Computer Science.
  • Experience with agile software development process, such as SAFe Agile.
