Clinical Technician 2 | Emergency Department - Alexandria Hospital

The Clinical Technician 2 provides direct care to patients whose care requirements are routine and standardized, with predictable outcomes, under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse. Communicates effectively and works cooperatively with others. Has respect for and understanding of other clinical disciplines. Serves as a unit preceptor for all new Clinical Technicians. Serves as a super user. Assumes responsibility for self-development in lifelong learning. Maintains competencies and seeks opportunities to develop professionally.

Job Responsibilities


  • Provides direct care to patients whose care requirements are routine and standardized, with predictable outcomes, under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse
  • Effectively communicates with health team members, patients and families; Communicates effectively and works cooperatively with others.
  • Assists unit leadership with overseeing other unit Clinical Technician education records.
  • Has respect for and an understanding of other clinical disciplines.
  • Maintains competencies and seeks opportunities to develop professionally.
  • Identifies own learning needs based on self-evaluation and the progress made from the previous year's goals.
  • Assumes responsibility for self-development in life long learning and seeks opportunities to further increase practice knowledge.
  • May perform additional duties as assigned.

Shift: 12 hour Evening (1p -1a/3p-3a))
Schedule: Full-Time, Days vary
Training: Ideal candidate must be able to attend 6 week training

Requirements:



  • Experience: 1 year acute care experience as a Clinical Tech or clinical rotation with an accredited nursing program and/or 2 years of nursing school
  • Education: High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Certification: BLS within 90 days of hire.
  • Training: Candidate must be able to attend six week training orientation upon hire.
  • Special Skills: Proficient in English. Verbal and written communication skills required.
