About the position:

Work as a Crew Member- Mainline Ramming in our Mainline area of the foundry forming and/or setting molds used for the casting of molten iron. Responsible for the flow of production through the plant while maintaining EEC quality standards. Will perform several duties required to ensure production demand is met including but not limited to; ramming molds, finishing molds, operating overhead cranes and mobile equipment, and housekeeping duties.

What you'll do:



  • Read and understand blueprints and spec sheets
  • Prepare wood and Styrofoam patterns for molding
  • Prepare gating, cores, and rigs prior to sand molding process
  • Cross train and adhere to product development standards
  • Adhere to all housekeeping and safety standards, including the required use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Inspect, set, and clamp molds to be cast
  • Responsible for the setting of the molds, in preparation for casting
  • Measure the mold wall of set mold to ensure that they are within customer tolerance
  • Tie down applicable cores to bring them to the proper dimensions


What you'll need:



  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be able to perform work at heights
  • Must be able to pass physical requirements
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours and mandatory overtime
  • Ability to train and receive certification on Crane
  • Ability to withstand extreme temperatures
  • Ability to lift 30 - 60 pounds


Preferred Qualifications



  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or foundry environment


  • Ability to read blueprints, customer specification sheets, and tape measures
  • Certified with operating mobile equipment or overhead crane


Skills and Abilities



  • Ability to work safe
  • Good math skills
  • Ability to learn to run crane and mobile equipment if necessary
  • Good attendance history and able to show up to work on time
  • Required to stand throughout an 8-hour shift


Working Conditions



  • Worker is subject to an environment not controlled for heat or cold. Worker is often subject to greases, oils, dirt, dust, cold and heat throughout the workday. Worker is subject to work being performed on or above ground floor and also below ground level (ground pit)
  • Workers must be able to wear proper PPE (respirators, hardhat, steel toe metatarsals, and ear plugs)
  • This position requires a HEAVY level of physical demand capability.
  • Workers frequently stand on concrete flooring.
