What you'll be doing...

In this position, you will be leading a team to execute on a high visibility operation to increase the volume of sellable inventory generated by our circular supply chain. This operation serves as part of one of Verizon's top priority strategic initiatives. You will work to create a sustainable program to reuse returned customer devices in a more value driven way than ever before. To succeed, you will work with potential vendor partners, drive operational project pilots, and perform data driven analysis with the team to determine the most effective path forward. With specific inventory targets in mind, this position will serve to provide more optionality for our customers and drive more revenue for our company.

Specifically, you and your team will identify and manage handset repair and refurbishment partner(s) that will need to be able to meet specific quality standards and a high capacity throughput. It will be your team's responsibility to ensure standards and expectations are met through comprehensive handset device quality audits. Repair vendors will partner with us to provide detailed quality grading for each unit, and this team will be accountable for ensuring grading accuracy and a level of output yield that meets the expectation of the business. Your team will be composed of quality experts, vendor managers, and analysts for full program execution.

In this role you will be leading a team to perform the following activities:

  • Supporting vendor selection for handset repair scope of work.

  • Data analysis to create a robust business case to support handset repair activities.

  • Working with 3PL partners on daily operational task resolution at the warehouse.

  • Directing vendor management with selected handset repair vendors to ensure documented expectations and KPIs are being met.

  • Technical quality assessment of refurbished handset devices.

What we're looking for...

A strategic minded individual with strong leadership skills. This role will require critical decision making, efficient execution of parallel tasks, physical quality audits, key metrics analysis, vendor management, among other day to day activities.

You'll need to have:

  • Eight or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.

  • Experience in Supply Chain and Product Development best practices.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Graduate/Master's Degree.

  • A demonstrated knowledge of current device refurbishment and repair tools/processes.

  • Experience working with third party logistics providers and warehouse operations.

  • Experience working with third party handset device repair and refurbishment partners.

  • Demonstrated track record of managing deliverables and meeting timelines and strong project management skills.

  • Experience with evaluating Requests for Proposals (RFPs).

  • Experience working closely with or managing external vendor partners.

  • Two or more years of demonstrated managerial/leadership experience. Ideally, experience managing remote teams.
