Wabtec/Nordco is hiring a full time skilled Heavy Equipment Product Technician to join our team in Oak Creek, WI. Great Pay, 1st shift and full benefits that start day 1

Shift: 6:30 am - 2:30 pm

Pay: $27- $32 an hour depending on experience

As a Heavy Equipment Product Technician, you will be responsible for performing quality validation testing on all Nordco equipment according to customer specifications and delivery requirements. You'll troubleshoot equipment, identify non-conformances, communicate repair needs, and assist with both production and prototype machine testing. Additionally, you'll play an essential role in reporting defects, collaborating with engineering, production, and R&D teams, and helping to create and maintain testing procedures.

Responsibilities:




  • Perform functional testing of all Nordco track maintenance equipment using approved test procedures.
  • Audit assembly to ensure it meets internal and external specifications.
  • Troubleshoot issues discovered during testing and report findings.
  • Communicate completion of final testing for production and prototype machines.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and R&D teams on machine build issues or testing concerns.
  • Assist with the creation and maintenance of test procedures.
  • Complete detailed reports on machine testing and defects.
  • Provide feedback to Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams.



Qualifications:




  • High School diploma or equivalent required.

  • 5+ years of troubleshooting or related experience with heavy equipment.

  • Proficient with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic controlled circuits, including PLC and CAN-bus systems.

  • Experience using measurement tools, such as flow meters, pressure gauges, and voltage meters.

  • Ability to interpret electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical schematics and drawings.

  • Strong general mechanical skills.

  • Familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel for reporting.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with managers, suppliers, and other employees.

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures.
