Aon is looking for an Associate Broker to join our Marine practice.

As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions as part of our Marine practice group within Aon Risk Solutions in Chicago, IL. This role will have the flexibility to work both virtually and from our Chicago, IL Aon office location.

What the day will look like

  • Handling policy & coverage related questions from staff issuing Certificates of Insurance
  • Investigating accounting queries as required
  • Attending internal pre-renewal strategy meetings with Broker, as required
  • Setting up and handling abeyances in a timely fashion and in line with internal client expectations
  • Collecting new and renewal documentation including electronic copies (where available)
  • schedules, application forms
  • Generating binder documentation & expiring schedules, to be provided to the Broker
  • Supporting Brokers with general day-to-day client servicing
  • In consultation with the broker, reviewing and requesting corrections to policy documents from Insurer, abeyance and follow up for timely delivery of correct policy documents. Engaging the broker if insurers are not delivering in accordance with our service standards
  • Assisting in the creation of submissions for all accounts. Ensuring submission quality to Aon Standards, including details of any midterm changes, new operations, exposure schedules, claims summaries, etc.
  • Calculating complex premium, fees, adjustments and taxes and retain a copy in the file.
  • Requesting assistance from the Broker if unclear on how to proceed.
  • Ensuring that documents are forwarded to Insurer(s) with a detailed letter explaining all changes or enclosures
  • Backing-up and supporting the Broker in the tracking of outstanding renewal documents and assisting with follow up with insurers for timely delivery of policy documents/endorsements
  • Checking insurer policies within 30 days of the date received from the carrier

Qualifications Required:

  • HIGH attention to detail
  • 15+ years of Commercial Insurance experience
  • Good sales skills or desire and ability to quickly develop effective sales techniques
  • Committed to delivering the highest level of customer service and quality
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Access
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize a wide range of tasks from various sources and prioritize workload to meet deadlines
  • Goal oriented and highly motivated in achieving results
  • Ability to work independently or within a team

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience

Pay Transparency Laws:

The salary range for this position is $85,000 to $100,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.
