As a member of our elite Waste Connections Operations team, you will be signing up for a company that is committed to our employee's long-term career development and success. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in growing with the company and with goals of advancing to higher -level management positions within 1-3 years.

Duties & Responsibilities of a Safety Manager:

  • Coaches and trains employees on safety policy and accident/injury prevention.
  • Initiates safety projects and initiatives that provide employees with the tools and training to conduct their activities in a safe manner.
  • Write or revise safety-related Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs) as needed.
  • Writes Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) for project work.
  • Work with other employees and vendors on gas and air monitoring.
  • Facilitates the implementation of the Company's Health and Safety policies.
  • Assists or Conducts district facility reviews for compliance with regulations and policies.
  • Conducts accident/injury investigations in line with the corporate Safety and Claims Managers, as required.
  • Initiates new hires into the safety culture of the Company.
  • Analyzes accident and injury data for trends and recommends appropriate programs to reverse the trend.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years Health/Safety Manager experience for a large company.
  • Waste experience is highly preferred.
  • Experience working with hazardous material is required.
  • Experience and familiarity with air monitoring and air sampling reports is required.
  • Hazwoper certified or availability to complete training after being hired.
  • Strong knowledge of CalOSHA regulations is required.
  • Demonstrated public speaking skills.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Salary Range: $90,000-$130,000

Bonus: 0-10%
