Note: this position may be filled as an Engineer I or one level higher as an Engineer II dependent upon the selected candidate's experience. Engineer I The Engineer I position is the entry level of the Engineering classification hierarchy. Employees in the Engineer I position solve problems in engineering areas of specialization with close supervision. An Engineer I is expected to develop skills, and the ability to work with greater independence. An Engineer I has knowledge of fundamental concepts and procedures. Engineer II The Engineer II position is the intermediate level of the Engineering classification hierarchy. Employees in the Engineer II position solve complex problems in engineering areas of specialization with general supervision. An Engineer II is expected to develop advanced skills, and the ability to work with greater independence. An Engineer II effectively applies fundamental concepts and procedures to work that is fairly complex and varied. The person in this position will work as part of project teams to develop protection and control relay design drawing packages and material lists for high voltage substation projects at voltages including 4.16 kV, 12.5 kV, 24 kV, 44 kV, 100 kV, 230 kV, and 525 kV. These projects range from standalone relay replacements to total substation upgrades. This person will be expected to manage multiple ongoing projects. This person will be expected to interface with other engineering disciplines, project management, and construction/maintenance crews as dictated by the work and excel in adhering to project schedule demands and finding solutions to problems collaboratively.
