A growing company in the Raleigh area is looking for a hands-on Controller. In this role you will be responsible for all things Accounting and Finance related, including partnering with field operations to create a full financial picture. This is a new role due to growth and a great time to join the company. You will have the opportunity to build this role in tandem with leadership. Salary to $140K plus bonus.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & Forecasting:
  • Execute month end close to include reconciliations, overseeing transactional accounting, and ensuring accurate results
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports specific to projects including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cost-to-complete forecasts.
  • Ensure all financials are in accordance with GAAP, as well as the preparation of Work in Progress reports.
  • Collaborate with the project team to prepare and update financial forecasts for projects
Project Financial Management:
  • Ensure that projects are completed within the approved financial parameters and provide proactive solutions to any budgetary issues.
  • Oversee all financial aspects of projects, including budgeting, cost tracking, forecasting, and reporting
Cost Control & Analysis:
  • Provide detailed financial reports and performance analyses for each project.
  • Work with project managers and teams to track actual costs versus budgeted costs. Analyze variances and suggest corrective actions to keep projects within budget.
Revenue Recognition & Billing:
  • Ensure that billing schedules, progress billings, and change orders are properly documented and processed.
  • Oversee the process for accurate and timely revenue recognition and client billing in accordance with contractual terms.
Internal Controls & Auditing:
  • Participate in internal and external audits and assist in the preparation of audit documentation and financial statements.

Qualifications:
  • Qualified candidates will have a minim of 6 years of experience to include 2+ years' experience in a managerial capacity.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
    CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
  • Experience with Work in Progress is required (construction, manufacturing, or related project accounting)

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
