Job Overview: The Assistant Director of Clinical Services is responsible for the planning, directing, implementing and supervising of all clinical pharmaceutical activities in order to optimize drug therapies in a manner that decreases the risk for adverse events while also being cost effective. Qualifications: Required:
- Completion from an accredited School of Pharmacy, with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree required; New Jersey license required,
- At least five years of Hospital Pharmacy experience and two years of supervisory experience preferred,
- Familiarly with all phases of hospital Pharmacy,
- Working knowledge of public health matters,
- Familiarity with State and Federal laws and accreditation standards regulating professional and hospital practice of Pharmacy,
Scheduling Requirements:
- Shift working, 9:00 5:00 each day

Essential Functions:
- They conduct continuous performance improvement activities such as medication utilization evaluations, developing medication use criteria and guidelines, and providing educational programs to pharmacy staff, nursing, and licensed independent practitioners,
- The Assistant Director of Clinical Services also provides leadership and oversight of the clinical specialists and their development to make certain that patients and key stakeholders needs are met,
- They will also serve as the ASHP accredited PGY-1 Residency Program Director to ensure that all accreditation requirements are met as well as coordinate all resident and student activities,
- In addition, they will also serve as Secretary of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics committee,
- They will work closely with the Director of Pharmacy and Assistant Director of Pharmacy Operations to assist the department's compliance with all policies and procedures as well as state and federal regulations,
- Coordinates all activities associated with the Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee including agendas, minutes, submission to the Medical Executive Committee, and follow-up on action items,
- Participates on hospital committees as requested and shares pertinent information to department leadership
- Oversees the activities of the clinical specialists to ensure that appropriate pharmaceutical services are being provided in their respective specialty/area of practice,
- Oversees the training and professional development of the clinical specialists, pharmacists, and technicians,
- Supports the training of other healthcare disciplines across the organization as requested,
- Provides leadership in establishing, monitoring, and improving the provision of pharmaceutical care,
- Maintains adverse drug reaction program, including taking opportunities to improve care when identified by collected data,
- Serves as the ASHP accredited PGY1 Residency Program Director to ensure all accreditation requirements are met,
- Serves as the liaison between Schools of Pharmacy and department to coordinate the placement of students and ensures all requirements and documentation for placement is met.
