Executive and Internal Communications:

UCF's Executive and Internal Communications team supports the university's leadership in conveying strategic messages to key internal and external audiences, with a charge to foster transparency, engagement, and a unified community identity. The team collaborates closely across the university to ensure consistent messaging related to leadership's vision and the university's mission and goals.

The Opportunity:

The Executive Writer plays a critical role in developing and crafting high-impact messaging for the Office of the President. As part of the Executive and Internal Communications Team, this position will develop executive speeches, remarks, correspondence, emails, social media posts, and more written content for key events, internal communications, special projects, and other strategic initiatives.

Classification Title: Writer II

Responsibilities:


  • Develop compelling executive remarks, talking points, written messages, emails, newsletters, social media posts, and more, ensuring messaging is tailored for the appropriate audience(s) and in alignment with leadership's vision and the university's strategic goals.

  • Work closely with senior leadership to translate their ideas, vision, and voice into impactful communication, providing editorial guidance and revision support to ensure accuracy, quality, and consistency.

  • Generate and draft a wide range of executive correspondence, including letters, emails, notes, and more to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring timeliness and maximum thoughtfulness.

  • Conduct research to inform content, including working to gather internal and external data, stories, anecdotes, and more material that supports the reinforcement of key messages.

  • Perform other duties in support of signature university events and other strategic initiatives.


Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219.Click here for more information

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Extensive experience in executive and/or strategic communications, preferably within higher education or a large, complex organization.

  • Exceptional storytelling skills, with a portfolio demonstrating versatility in writing and editing.

  • Strategic communication skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear and engaging content for a variety of audiences.

  • Confidence working with high-level executives, including the ability to develop rapport and understand strategic vision and goals.

  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills, including the ability to work effectively and cooperatively within a team and across the university.
