Symetra has an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Investment Reporting and Business Intelligence Intern within our Investment Management Team! Symetra's Internship Program for Summer 2025 is entirely remote - all interns will learn and work in a virtual setting. The internship duration is 12 weeks. About the role As the Investment Reporting and Business Intelligence Intern you are a key participant in the Symetra's investment accounting close and reporting cycle. You'll be an impactful member of our finance team responsible for transforming large amounts of investment data and other information into presentations and tools that tell the story of Symetra's portfolio. The team is responsible for completing portfolio valuation and performance measurement, analyzing company results for both internal and external parties, providing support to the investment front office and contributing to projects within the finance department as needed. You will have the opportunity to learn and produce those tasks. You have experience with BI tools or a willingness to learn new technology to provide additional insight for portfolio management teams and reporting. You are interested or have experience with understanding the fundamentals of investment accounting and reporting requirements, with an ability and interest to take on complex tasks while continuously building your skills and knowledge. Symetra Investment Management (SIM) was established in 2019 and is a subsidiary of Symetra who is a wholly owned subsidiary of Sumitomo Life of Japan. SIM enables Sumitomo to invest in the U.S. markets and to expand in-house asset management capabilities.
