What will I be doing?

The Innovation and Design team at Altium is constantly evolving, and we are looking for a dynamic Strategy and Innovation Intern to support key business initiatives to drive growth. We are also looking for an intern to step in day one and make an immediate impact. The intern experience will be designed to provide opportunities to work directly with the design, innovation, marketing, and sales teams on the following potential projects:

* Evaluate market segments, trends, or technology developments informing Altium innovation and product development decisions
* Analyze current or potential development projects to help drive prioritization decisions

* Implement a dashboard and process for measuring innovation and product performance against key performance indicators

* Update the Altium product catalog and customer-facing materials for target end-segments

* Lead implementation, training, and management of collaborative intelligence pilots

What does the internship experience look like?

As an intern you will have exposure to real projects and will play a crucial role in the decision-making process. The experience will include:

  • Mentoring

  • Group Intern learning experiences and events (for summer interns)

  • Business exposure

  • Valuable project management experience

  • Final "report out" with all other interns highlighting key learnings and summer experience

What will I gain from the internship?

At the end of 12 weeks, you will have a wealth of functional strategy and innovation as well as product management / market research experience to call upon in your return to school, will fully understand the business, and have created tremendous value. You will have 12 weeks working with experienced strategy, innovation, and product management professionals. You will gain valuable project management experience, leadership skills, the ability to influence across levels of the organization, presentation skills, public speaking opportunities, work-planning, analytical decision-making processes, developing alternatives to issues, and the ability to apply technical skills learned in school and use them in a functional setting. The skills you develop from this internship will serve you well in the rest of your schooling, as well as in your professional life.

Am I eligible for an internship?

  • Candidates must be a junior or senior enrolled in a related field business; strategy and innovation, product management, market research, packaging science, or industrial design, and pursuing a bachelor's degree.

  • Should have familiarity with strategy, innovation, product management and product marketing frameworks.

  • Has the ability to multi-task, takes initiative, is hardworking, intellectually curious and has strong organizational and follow-up skills

  • Experience with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is required. Experience with project management software/tools is a plus.

  • You must be available to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks, though 12 weeks is preferred. A GPA minimum of 3.0 is required.

  • Strong candidates will have demonstrated leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
