This is a full time position at Waste Connections, Inc. The position will be primarily responsible for management and support of all external and internal applications including design, development, content management and associated functionality. This position is a member of the Operations Applications Information Systems group and will be part of the Conversion Team.

Job Description Summary:

Analyze science, engineering, business, and other data processing problems to implement and improve computer systems. Analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate or improve existing systems and review computer system capabilities, workflow, and scheduling limitations. May analyze or recommend commercially available software.

The role of the Application Specialist - Trainer is to manage successful software conversions for our field sites across the US and Canada. Our trainers work hand-in-hand with the field training customer service representatives, managers and accounting professionals how to use our proprietary software systems. The successful Applications Trainer must be prepared to learn the intricacies of the garbage industry and be a subject matter expert when interacting with the field. Trainers will need to become authorities in different training styles - online, one on one and in a classroom environment.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide training and support to users of Waste Connections Route Manager program

  • Be a strong contributor to the success and goals of the Conversion and Applications Team

  • Manage support tickets that pertain to Route Manager

  • Assume additional responsibilities as required

  • This position will require up to 50% domestic travel

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA or BS degree or 1 year technical training experience

  • Database and SQL knowledge a plus

  • Working knowledge of Crystal Reports is a plus
