Job Description:

  • This position involves working with different applications and HPC performance information to support HPE's, development activities associated with Air Force products. HPC level of knowledge includes processor performance familiarity, network technology insight, software proficiency, and application performance & scalability expertise.
  • The successful candidate will possess strong technical abilities in areas that include HPC application software, performance analysis, HPC hardware and architectural knowledge that can be applied to benchmark work being done for HPE supercomputers being deployed at customer site.
  • Therefore, we are seeking a motivated engineers who will consistently deliver the high-quality results demanded by our Air Force HPC customers.


Role & Responsibilities:

  • Successfully complete long and short HPC projects.
  • Understand HPC architectural components and features, as well as performance estimation methodologies used to provide required information and performance assessments.
  • Complete and provide technical analysis of HPC I/O, standardization.
  • Identify solutions, define action plans, and help coordinate and deliver optimal benchmark enhancements and solutions.
  • Develop and maintain current knowledge of competitors' and HPE's HPC products and relevant HPC performance optimization techniques to ensure HPE's ability to provide high-quality benchmark performance results.


Qualifications:

  • Experience with HPE Apollo n2600 Gen10+ SFF CTO Chassis (qty 6)

    • ProLiant XL220n Gen10 Plus (qty 20)


  • Knowledge of HPC system components that include processor technologies, accelerator technologies, memory technologies, & software technologies - and the ability to understand their impacts on various HPC benchmarks. Such as HPE Apollo n2600 Gen10+ SFF CTO Chassis (qty 6)

    • ProLiant XL220n Gen10 Plus (qty 20)


  • Understanding of parallel programming techniques and algorithms.
  • Ability to take on some of the most challenging HPC projects to advance the capabilities of HPC which will benefit HPE customers and the world.
  • A demonstrated ability to assess and optimize performance on HPC Linux based system
  • Expertise with software utilized by the HPC community that includes Compilers (C++, C, Fortran), OpenMP, MPI & MPI-IO, Python and other Linux based scripting languages
  • Expertise in GPU programming (CUDA and HIP)
  • Ability to use Performance profiling tools and debugging tools on Linux based systems.
  • Knowledge of these switches: Mellanox IB HDR 40P Managed Switch

    • HPE FF 5940 48SFP+ flex fabric switch
    • HPE 5900AF 48G flex fabric switch


  • Storage: Panasas Storage SCG16
  • Familiarity with analyzing and assessing benchmark and application performance for HPC systems.


Education and Experience Required:

  • Master's degree in a technical field (Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Environmental, etc.).
