We currently have an exciting opportunity for aPrincipal Project Engineer, located in Cranberry Township, PA, US.This position has a mobile/hybrid working arrangement.

No relocation assistance available for this position.

In this position, aProject Engineerin the Issue Resolution & Failure Analysis group can expect to be responsible for the following:



  1. Lead cross functional engineeringteams as an Issue Manager (e.g. Engineering, Licensing, SCM, QA, etc.) to develop solution paths for emergent significant issues involving highly complex technical, commercial and financial problems

    1. Develop effective working relationships across organizational boundaries and with Customers (internal and external)
    2. Develop flexible project plans, including schedule and budget activities as part of issue closure planning
    3. Lead issue team meetings and ensure deliverables and handoffs are executed per plan
    4. Drive technical and commercial decisions as appropriate
    5. Capture lessons learned at issue closeout and implement best practices


  2. Drive and support preparation of technical resolution paths of emergent issues related to plant licensing, design engineering (across all disciplines), procurement, construction, commissioning, and operations

    1. Develop and apply state of the art problem solving and management techniques for complex technical, project and supply issues across Westinghouse
    2. Lead technical challenge meetings to define issue resolution (i.e. Critical Issue Resolution Team, Technical Review Board, etc.)
    3. Leverage Westinghouse expertise across different functional disciplines and global work locations
    4. Drive decision making that meets project technical, commercial, and schedule needs


  3. Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills to interface with peers and executive management

    1. Including delivering presentations and regular updates to internal and external stakeholders


  4. Drive results with high accountability while exhibiting flexibility and adaptability to lead efforts in support of critical path schedule activities for project milestones, while concurrently managing many tasks
  5. Optimize spending to successfully manage budgets for assigned projects
  6. Travel requirements: 10-20% as needed



Who You Are:

As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team:



  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent. Mechanical, Chemical, Nuclear, Electrical or Civil Engineer preferred.
  • Typically 7plusyears of applicable engineering experience.
  • Knowledge of the design and operation of pressurized water reactor (PWR) plants.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience in making presentations and facilitating meetings.
  • Candidates with prior plant operating experience is desired.
