JOB TYPE Classification: Non-exempt Supervises Positions: No JOB SUMMARY Performs a variety of patient care and administrative support functions under the supervision of a UVA Community Health Registered Nurse (RN) in an inpatient or outpatient setting. * Assists patients with personal care as needed for optimal recovery during hospitalization. Performs basic nursing skills as delegated by an RN and in accordance with policy and procedures to promote patient health and wellness. * Provides for a safe environment and safe delivery of care. * Performs administrative support functions. * Maintains necessary skills and competencies. Patient Care:Works with team members to develop or improve processes to assure a remarkable patient experience.
Quality:Works in partnership with leaders to create, support, and maintain a culture of professional accountability.
Communication:Ensures timely and consistent communication to provide exemplary care.
Medical Knowledge:Demonstrates core knowledge of biomedical and clinical sciences and the application of this knowledge to patient care.
The incumbent may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Education: Currently enrolled student nurses who have successfully completed the Medical/Surgical Clinical Experience and Didactic required. BSN students who have completed their 3rd year; ASN students who have completed their 1st year. Experience: None Refer to the Life Support Training Policy for additional details. Frequent repetitive body movements. Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills. Attention to detail and ability to write legibly. Ability to lift/push/pull up to 20 lbs. occasionally.
