WHO YOU ARE

The Food and Beverage Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of all food and beverage outlets within the hotel, ensuring high-quality service, maintaining operational efficiency, and contributing to guest satisfaction. This includes managing hotel restaurants, bars, room service, catering, and event banquets. The role also involves monitoring financial performance, managing staff, coordinating with the culinary team, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The Food and Beverage Manager ensures that all aspects of the hotel's food and beverage offerings align with brand standards, enhance the guest experience, and meet profitability goals.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Hotel Food and Beverage Operations Management:


  • Oversee the operation of all food and beverage outlets in the hotel, including in-house restaurants, lounges, bars, room service, and banquets.
  • Ensure that service standards, quality, and cleanliness are maintained at all times across all outlets.
  • Monitor and improve the efficiency of food and beverage service, from guest check-in to check-out, ensuring smooth transitions between shifts.


Guest Experience & Satisfaction:


  • Maintain a high standard of guest service across all food and beverage outlets to enhance the overall guest experience at the hotel.
  • Address and resolve guest complaints or special requests promptly and professionally.
  • Collaborate with the front desk and guest services teams to ensure seamless integration of food and beverage services with other hotel offerings.


Staff Supervision & Development:


  • Lead, train, and manage food and beverage department staff, including restaurant servers, bartenders, cooks, and banquet servers.
  • Ensure staff adhere to hotel standards for service, grooming, and behavior.
  • Implement ongoing training programs focused on customer service, upselling, and hotel procedures.
  • Conduct regular staff performance evaluations and encourage professional development through feedback and coaching.


Financial Management & Budgeting:


  • Develop, implement, and manage the department's budget, including tracking revenue and expenses.
  • Monitor food and beverage costs, labor costs, and other operational expenses to ensure they stay within budgetary guidelines.
  • Create and implement strategies to enhance revenue while controlling costs, including pricing strategies, cost reductions, and promotions.
  • Analyze financial reports and work with senior management to optimize profitability.


Inventory Management & Procurement:


  • Oversee the ordering, inventory, and storage of food, beverages, and supplies in compliance with hotel standards and health regulations.
  • Establish relationships with suppliers and negotiate contracts for cost-effective purchasing.
  • Ensure the quality and freshness of all food and beverage items and manage inventory levels to minimize waste.


Health, Safety, & Compliance:


  • Ensure all food and beverage operations comply with local health, safety, and sanitation regulations, including food safety standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections of kitchen, dining areas, and storage rooms to ensure cleanliness and safety.
  • Ensure that staff are trained in health and safety protocols, including food handling, alcohol service, and emergency procedures.


Event Planning & Banquet Operations:


  • Collaborate with the sales and events teams to manage catering, banquets, and private events held at the hotel.
  • Ensure the coordination of food and beverage services for weddings, conferences, meetings, and other events, ensuring the highest level of service.
  • Manage the setup and breakdown of events, ensuring proper execution according to guest specifications.


Marketing & Promotion:


  • Work with the marketing team to promote the hotel's food and beverage offerings, including creating special promotions, events, or seasonal menus to drive sales.
  • Support hotel-wide marketing initiatives, such as guest loyalty programs or dining packages, to increase guest engagement and revenue.


WHAT YOU WILL NEED


  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
  • Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience in food and beverage management in a hotel, resort, or large-scale hospitality environment.
  • Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of food and beverage operations, hotel services, budgeting, and cost control. Familiarity with hotel management software and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask in a high-pressure environment and manage large teams.
  • Certifications: Food Safety and Handling certification (as required by local health regulations). Alcohol Service certification (e.g., TIPS) may be required.


WORK ENVIRONMENT


  • This role operates in a fast-paced hotel environment with multiple outlets and events occurring simultaneously.
  • The Food and Beverage Manager will work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate hotel operations.
  • The position may require standing for extended periods and the ability to move between various hotel locations (kitchen, dining areas, event spaces).
