Inova Nursing Professional Development Department is looking for a RN Clinical Educator to work with our Perianesthesia (PACU) and GE procedural team supporting RN team members. This role is full-time, M-F. Sign-on Bonus & relocation assistance eligible.

This position will have systemwide oversite that includes working with Inova Alexandria Hospital, Inova Fairfax Medical Campus, Inova Fair Oaks, Inova Mount Vernon, and Inova Loudoun Hospital.

Responsibilities:



  • Utilizes system strategies and tools to assess the competency of new nursing staff members while focusing on quality of care and patient safety goals.
  • Integrates theoretical knowledge, evidence-based principles and clinical nursing expertise into educational experiences for both new and experienced team members.
  • Prepares annual self-development plans, sets professional goals and seek opportunities for achieving them.
  • Contributes to quality and safety initiatives across the organization.


Requirements:



  • Work Schedule: Full-time, M-F (regular office hours, with some flexibility as needed based on department needs)
  • Education: Master's Degree in Nursing, HealthCare, Education and/or other relevant field
  • Experience: 2 years of progressive experience in nursing in designated specialty; 3 months of experience serving as preceptor
  • Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association; Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state RN License
