Who we are looking for:

We are currently searching for an Executive Assistant to operate within our corporate headquarters in Harvey, IL. This is a highly visible position which entails regular interaction with Corporate Officers, Senior Executives and Customers.

The ideal candidate will have the desire to be a business partner to the executive leaders that they support, be highly analytical and organized, understand the demands and expectations required, while being able to support and assist with the daily requirements and long-term strategic direction of the executives and the Company.

What you'll do:

Executive Administration



  • Manage calendar including scheduling meetings, accepting calendar appointments, and rearranging where necessary for supported executive(s)
  • Coordinate travel arrangements
  • Prepare and submit expense reports
  • Review employee expense reports submitted for approval
  • Arrange for in-house meeting space and catering as needed
  • Arrange off-site meetings, including audio/video and catering as required
  • Manage in-coming phone calls and voice mail messages
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and documents
  • Manage routine correspondence and communications with important Atkore relationships including banks, investors, customers, suppliers, and agents.
  • Manage/coordinate customer or employee events, such as dinners, conferences, and meetings
  • Support executive(s) in preparation and execution of Organizational Leadership Review and Performance Review and Objective Setting coordination
  • Assist in the on-boarding of department new hires
  • Maintain Atkore Organizational charts
  • Maintain Corporate calendar and relevant sections on Atkore's Intranet
  • Maintain vacation calendar of Senior staff and manage vacation/travel requests for team.
  • Educate other executive/administrative support staff to function as back-up and provide back-up as necessary for others.
  • Work closely with other administrative assistants to coordinate events and resolve timing and other conflicts
  • Maintain data in Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint, Word or other systems
  • Prepare/refine/publish/distribute PowerPoint presentations and other presentation material
  • Support executive subordinates with similar activities


Office Management



  • Order and maintain office supplies
  • Reconcile spending on department and office purchasing card accounts, submitting documentation and receipts as required by policy.
  • Coordinate vendors, suppliers and the landlord for repairs, maintenance, supplies, cleaning services.
  • Light clean-up in the kitchen and common areas as needed.
  • Other support activities as required


What you bring:



  • Associate Degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 5-10 years previous experience supporting senior-level executives required
  • Pro-active, plan-ahead mentality - able to manage and work on projects independently and meet trigger dates and deadlines
  • Proven ability to work for more than one person with high demands and interact with all levels of management and employees
  • Flexibility to manage high demand, quick turnaround situations, handle multiple tasks and juggle changing priorities throughout the day - which may require OT
  • Professional demeanor and attitude, excellent interpersonal skills and strong written communications skills
  • Complete discretion when handling confidential matters and sensitive information
  • Strict attention to detail and quality
  • Strong organization, follow-through, and project management experience
  • Self-starter with strong analytic skills
  • Independent decision making - ability to think critically with strong problem-solving skills to provide solutions - and to properly review, evaluate and determine which matters should be filtered and delegated
  • Extensive experience preparing presentation materials for meetings - Board of Directors, Internal Executive Meetings, Investor Meetings, etc.
  • Expert-level with Microsoft Office applications
