We Require

  • One year of clinical mental health experience

  • Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field from an accredited program

  • A valid, unrestricted license issued by the Arizona State Board of Behavioral Health Examiners as a:

    • Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), OR

    • Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC), OR

    • Licensed Associate Substance Abuse Counselor (LASAC), OR

    • Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (LAMFT), OR

    • Licensed Associate Psychologist

  • Behavioral health experience in a correctional health setting

  • Bilingual skills in English and Spanish

Job Contributions

  • Complete bio-psychosocial assessments, suicide risk assessments, and other clinical forms as required under the supervision of an independently licensed mental health professional

  • Provide individual and group psycho-education and crisis intervention services under the supervision of an independently licensed mental health professional

  • Coordinate with the multi-disciplinary team regarding patient care

  • Develop and coordinate patient discharge/re-entry plans

  • Obtain relevant treatment records and coordinate care with family members, community providers, and others relevant to the patient's care and community re-entry plan

  • Maintain and update a list of community resources to support the patient's transition and re-entry back to the community, including civil commitment procedures, RBHA services, and criminal justice processes

Working Conditions

  • Must complete a CPR certification during new hire orientation

  • Must complete an MCSO-HR fingerprint background check

  • Must be able to work inside a jail environment, consisting of working in close proximity to inmates and other staff and being indoors in a confined area handling multiple or complicated tasks

  • Requires accuracy, decision-making, and concentration skills to be vigilant in a teamwork environment

  • Performs a high volume of work under short deadlines or with time pressures to complete frequently changing and unscheduled tasks
