Job Summary

The Department of Parks, Recreation, and Community Services in Loudoun County is seeking qualified applicants for the part-time temporary Passenger Vehicle Operator/Aide position. The selected candidate will fulfill the role of a substitute driver for a 28-passenger bus at a senior center.

We are currently hiring for the following location(s):

  • Senior Center at Cascades, 21060 Whitfield Place, Sterling, VA

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Conducts client transport as scheduled or when designated drivers are not present; manages the operation of the wheelchair lift and implements procedures for securing wheelchairs; and maintains all required documentation related to clients.
  • Keeps the vehicle in a condition that is both safe and operational.
  • Provides support to clients at the Adult Day Center in performing activities of daily living.
  • Additional critical job responsibilities may be undertaken that are specific to the role and departmental assignment.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and one (1) year of related work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Job Contingencies and Special Requirements

  • Must undergo criminal and DMV background checks and complete a pre-employment drug screen prior to hire.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record (driving records may be reviewed annually for continued qualification).
  • Requires a CDL (Class C with Passenger endorsement) learner's permit within 3 months and license within 6 months of hire.
