Georgia-Pacific's Consumer Products Group is currently searching for a Shift Leader for the Converting Department at the Wauna Mill in Clatskanie, OR. This key leadership role is responsible for the performance of a shift of hourly team members and associated Converting Lines. The Shift Coach will recognize and lead efforts to close gaps in performance in Safety, quality and reliability. The Shift Leaders are instrumental in building capability in their team, addressing staffing gaps and driving improvements. The Shift Coach will be responsible to validate all asset strategies are executed flawlessly. Our Team Our Wauna Mill is located on the Columbia River and is centrally located near the beach and mountains with several forms of outdoor recreational activities. The Wauna Mill is within an hour drive to Portland OR offering regional attractions and forms of entertainment. What You Will Do * Leading, mentoring, supervising, coaching and developing hourly employees utilizing the PBM Guiding Principles and Operations Excellence tools to improve capability and performance * Facilitating knowledge transfer to and among team members to enable them to succeed * Facilitating crew level safety action plans and safety meetings with area Master Techs that support the mill's safety vision and Environmental, Health & Safety excellence * Ensuring employee's roles, responsibilities, and expectations (RR&E's) are aligned with plant and organizational goals and that team members know how to create maximum value for the company * Creating an environment where the team values hazard identification and risk reduction * Interfacing with Manufacturing Engineers, Performance Capability Leader, Skill Developer and other team members, to identify and address performance gaps * Providing frequent performance feedback and developing annual 360 feedback summaries * Working with the team to execute asset strategies * Ensuring decision making and actions are consistent with the collective bargaining agreement language and intent Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) * One (1) or more years of manufacturing experience or Military experience * Experience in Microsoft Applications * Two (2) or more years of previous supervisory/management experience * Willing and able to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays What Will Put You Ahead * Five (5) or more years of experience in the pulp and paper industry * Experience with SAP/Inventory Management System, TRAX * Greater than five (5) years of experience supervising, mentoring and training employees At Koch companies, we are entrepreneurs.
