DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Corrections Utility Plant Operator, you will supervise inmates in the maintenance of steam boilers, heating boilers, chilled water systems, cooling towers, and standby generators. Work will include utilizing manual and automatic controls, reading gauges and meters, and performing scheduled and non-routine operational assessments. This role requires strong supervisory skills to monitor safety compliance with boiler operating policies and procedures, while exercising care, custody, and control over inmates at all times. - Full-time employment, 40 hours per week.
- Work schedule is Monday - Friday, hours will be determined based on operational needs. 1st shift: 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM; 2nd shift 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM; 3rd shift 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with a 30-minute lunch.
- This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three years of experience in the operation, maintenance, and repair of a steam or hot water generating plant, or a steam and electric generating plant; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
