DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will be responsible for installing and maintaining transformers, switchgear, and emergency generators, as well as repairing and replacing underground cables. You will identify and troubleshoot electrical issues and install, test, and maintain electrical machinery, devices, and related equipment within designated facilities. Additionally, you will read and analyze blueprints and schematic diagrams to diagnose and resolve electrical system problems, including short circuits, power outages, and equipment failures. You will also assist in monitoring and evaluating system performance to identify subsystems that are not functioning properly, impacting the efficiency of the overall system. Your duties will include inspecting and maintaining ventilating fans, fire alarm systems, traffic control lights, and airport hangar and runway lighting systems. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 7.5 hours per day, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 1st shift (7:00 AM to 3:00 PM), Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Overtime: As needed
- May change based on operational needs.
- As an essential employee, you will be required to work during emergencies and office closings.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Five years of journey-level experience in the electrical trade; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Condition of Employment:
- You must have possession possession of a valid Pennsylvania Driver's License.
Additional Requirements:
- You must pass a favorable National Crime Information Center (NCIC) screening for admittance to Fort Indiantown Gap.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Formal training (high school or vocational program, apprenticeship, or post-high school technical program) in the electrical trade
- Experience as an electrician
- Licensure as a journey electrician or master electrician
- Experience working with generators
- Previous experience working from construction sketches, diagrams, and/or blueprints in the electrical trade
