DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Corrections Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for operating tractor-trailers, trucks, and other motor vehicles in the completion of daily work assignments. You will perform routine vehicle maintenance and safety checks and minor equipment repairs. Duties will include providing supervision to inmates assigned to commissary operations, training inmate workers in the proper methods of trailer loading and unloading, and completion of bills of lading. Thorough and accurate completion of reports and inventories, as well as safeguarding work areas, are essential duties of the position.

- Full-time employment (40-hour work week)
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday.
- This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Please note, selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $46,986.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience in the operation of tractor-trailer trucks; or
- A combination of experience and training which affords the applicant the required knowledges, skills, and abilities.

Additional Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirement:
- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
