THE POSITION

In this critical medical administrative and supervisory role, you will oversee the development and implementation of policies governing the clinical care provided to inmates within the DOC. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will oversee the planning and management of all medical, mental health, and dental services across the DOC's state correctional facilities. Your responsibilities will include developing and implementing policies and procedures for inmate healthcare delivery and offering medical guidance and consultation to healthcare professionals and other staff regarding programs that may impact medical considerations for inmates. Additionally, you will assess the effectiveness of clinical policies and procedures to identify potential gaps in treatment services. You will also serve as an advisor to physicians and on-site practitioners providing care to physically ill or mentally challenged inmates.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Three years of experience in the practice of medicine, which included or is supplemented by one year of administrative experience in a hospital or clinical setting.

Special Requirement:

  • You must possess a current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as issued by the State Board of Medicine or the State Board of Osteopathic Medicine.

Additional Requirement:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
