Scanning Machine Operator

Program Description: The purpose of this project is to provide document/file conversion of historical media archives and recently received document/file [variety of different paper Tax Documents (Forms and Schedules) and Correspondence] into a digital computer-readable format for the IRS. The project will receive, control, and convert source materials to standardized, indexed, and searchable Portable Document Format (PDF) (PDF Image plus Text) electronic documents for an estimated 57 million images.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the operation and normal maintenance of the scanning equipment. This includes processing prepped documents onto scanner and making appropriate adjustments.
• Retrieves box from the shelf and removes documents from the box in sort order.
• Jog paper source for proper imaging feed prior to scanning.
• Scans paper documents to reproduce as digital copy to be stored on a secure server. Repack hard copy to be shipped for storage.
• Inputs appropriate settings onto scanner computer screen by manipulating a mouse, typing from a keyboard or using the touchscreen.
• Analyzes documents in order to produce the appropriate shades and best resolution.
• Keep accurate account of time spent on each client's work, including time spent obtaining information, scanning, prepping, or other functions.
• Troubleshooting technical difficulties and making appropriate adjustments.
• Performs daily maintenance of scanner machine.
• Reference work instructions as needed.
• Required to attend mandatory meetings and trainings, work scheduled overtime with minimal notice, and perform other duties as assigned per business needs.

Training and Regular Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm. Overtime may be required throughout the week and/or on Saturdays. *Please note that holidays often fall upon Mondays. When this occurs, Tuesdays are heavier in workload.

Years of Experience: 2 years of experience preferred

Education Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent

Required Skills:

• Previous experience in high-speed scanning environment.
• Previous experience with high-speed scanners (not desktop scanners).
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Able to read, write and speak English.
• Able to maintain confidential information.
• Successfully pass and maintain acceptable background checks and security clearances.
• High school diploma, or equivalent.
• Basic computer knowledge and Microsoft Suite experience.

SCA HOURLY PAY RATE OF $19.93/HR. + $5.36/HR Health and Wellness
