We are currently seeking highly motivated Chemical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering students for our 2025 Student Co-op Program. This is an exciting, paid co-op opportunity for students to build strong resumes, collaborate with experienced engineers, and work on impactful projects in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

ABOUT THE DEWEY PLANT:

Our DeweyChemical Plant is a batch chemical manufacturing facility that serves diverse markets, including:

  • Urethane colorants
  • Colorants for soaps and detergents
  • Creative colors for children's art products
  • Printing inks
  • Plastic clarifiers
  • Plastic color concentrates for consumer-product packaging

RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Process Engineering Co-op at Milliken's DeweyPlant, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Participate in day-to-day operations as a process engineer
  • Contribute to project work, attend daily duties, participate in production meetings, and assist with production-scale trials
  • Produce written summary reports and presentations to communicate findings and improvements
  • Work closely with engineer/scientist project leaders and cross-functional teams
  • Engage in hands-on problem solving, process optimization, and improvements

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Current students pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering

  • GPA: Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Class Standing: Junior or Senior level students preferred

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong self-motivation and drive to complete projects independently
  • Ability to apply engineering principles to real-world problems
  • Adaptability in a dynamic manufacturing environment
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills with customers, management, and production personnel
  • Commitment to working safely around manufacturing equipment
