Overview

Texas Oncology is looking for a Facility Worker to join our team! This position will support the Longview and Marshall locations. This is a full-time Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm position with no weekends, call ,or major holidays.

This position will be either a level 1 or 2 based on candidate experience.

What does the Facility Worker do? (but not limited to)

Performs general and routine maintenance duties both inside and outside the clinic facilities. Responsible for general facility maintenance work requests. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.


Responsibilities

The essential duties and responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Performs routine and specific assignments including repairing and maintenance of equipment.
  • Cleans and repairs fans, air conditioners, carts, etc.
  • Performs general servicing of plumbing, heating, and air conditioning.
  • Assembles, moves, and installs furniture and fixtures.
  • Repairs desks, file cabinets, chairs and other furniture and fixtures.
  • Installs and repairs floor and wall coverings.
  • Assists other staff in handing materials on major repair or installation projects.
  • Assists with electrical work under supervision including performing electrical safety checks of equipment and testing generators and emergency equipment.
  • Maintains adequate supply inventories of such items as filters, lamps and janitorial supplies.
  • Empties trash, cleans restrooms, offices, vacuums/mops floors, dusts, washes inside window/door glass.
  • Replenishes supplies in restrooms and lounges, changes light bulbs, makes routine repairs to buildings and equipment.
  • Maintains clinic grounds including mowing, watering, spraying, trash pickup, etc.
  • Maintains clean, safe, and organized work environment.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the Facility Worker position will have the following background and experience:

Level 1

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Trade school or vocational diploma preferred.
  • Position is entry level and requires 0-3 years experience, preferably maintenance experience.
  • Prior experience as a handy-person preferred.
  • Prior experience with power-tools preferred.

Level 2 (in addition to level 1 requirements)

  • Minimum three to five years of maintenance experience.
  • State Maintenance Electrical License preferred.
