DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will conduct interviews with inmates to assist with their adjustment to institutional life, address challenges specific to the correctional environment, and offer support and encouragement. You will provide consultation and guidance on resolving personal and family issues, facilitating conflict resolution, and addressing concerns that arise both within the institution and in the community. Your responsibilities will include developing and maintaining accurate records and reports for managing an inmate caseload. You will assess aptitude and interest test results, compile socio-demographic histories, and create detailed case records. Additionally, you will employ a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to coordinate treatment plans, integrating programming, activities, counseling, and educational services to ensure optimal use of personnel and resources. This position works closely with a variety of teams, including psychological and medical staff, to seek guidance and ensure comprehensive support for each inmate. Interested in learning more? - Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Please Note: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $54,226.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three years and six months as a corrections officer, and 18 college credits in sociology, counseling, psychology, social work, corrections, criminal justice, or a related field; or
- A bachelor's degree in sociology, counseling, psychology, social work, corrections, criminal justice, or a related field; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 18 college credits in sociology, counseling, psychology, social work, corrections, criminal justice, or a related field.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within three months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
Special Requirement:
- You must obtain Commonwealth Law Enforcement Assistance Network (CLEAN) and Pennsylvania Justice Network (JNET) certification within two months of employment and maintain certification for the duration of employment in this job.
Other Requirements:

- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
