DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Administrative Officer 5, you will serve as the Director of the Office of Continuity and Records Information Management. This professional will develop tools and provide policy guidance and strategic direction for agencies under the governor's jurisdiction in order to enhance their continuity preparedness. Special attention must be given to monitor developments in federal policies surrounding continuity and integrate these into Commonwealth programs as appropriate. This position affords the opportunity to provide leadership for agency executives, present strategic priorities for consideration by Continuity of Government (COG) Steering Committee, and establish work plans to accomplish agreed upon priorities. Excellent interpersonal skills are vital in the cultivation of productive cooperation with independent executive agencies, as well as the legislature and the courts in order to guide the Commonwealth towards the goal of an overarching Enduring Constitutional Government (ECG) framework for state government.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 2 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as an Administrative Officer 4 (Commonwealth title); or
  • Eight years of experience in progressively responsible and varied management or staff work, including personnel management, fiscal management, budgeting, or procurement; and such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four year college or university; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must demonstrate strong strategic planning experience.
  • You must possess experience with BOLD Records Management System.
  • You must possess experience leading a continuity program and working with stakeholders.
  • You must possess experience in hazard mitigation and management.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
