A Brief Overview:

As a member of the Office of Clinical Research team, the Clinical Trials Contract Advisor will be responsible for independently, managing, analyzing, drafting and negotiating agreements and budgets related to clinical trials. This position will be responsible for the agreement intake process, including putting new agreements in the Office's agreement tracking system, creating a file, and inputting basic institutional information. The Contract Advisor will identify legal and business risks in agreements and verify that research objectives are accomplished and institutional policies are followed in negotiations.

This position will review and negotiate most research agreements for industry-funded clinical trials, including confidential disclosure agreements, clinical trial agreements, and CTA amendments. The Contract Advisor will communicate the status of reviews and negotiations to study teams and stakeholders and will be responsible for tracking and reporting certain metrics related to performance, including turn-around time for reviews

What you will do:

  • Responsible for study intake for all new research agreements and amendments, including entering agreements into contracting system and making sure institution name, address, and payment details are correct
  • File close-out once an agreement has been fully executed
  • Review and negotiation of research agreements, including NDAs/CDAs, CTAs and CTA amendments
  • Review and negotiation of research budgets, including NDAs/CDAs, CTAs and CTA amendments
  • Communicate status of review and negotiations to study teams and administration
  • Track and report around relevant metrics, including turn-around time
  • Other duties as assigned

What you will need:

  • Education: Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school required
  • Experience: 2 years' experience in a legal office/department or research role
