In this role, your mission and responsibilities will be to: The Assistant Controller is responsible for the coordination and execution of all financially related activities in the business to assist in the proper financial management of the company. The ability to analyze, interpret, and communicate results from cost accounting and other financial systems to explain the overall financial performance of the company to management is key. Specifically, you'll:



  • Financial Analysis: Conduct monthly reviews of financial statements, evaluate key performance indicators, and compare actual results to budgets and forecasts. Provide actionable recommendations.
  • Forecasting & Planning: Develop monthly rolling forecasts, annual Operating Plans, budgeting and long-term financial strategies, enhancing forecast accuracy by identifying key business drivers.
  • Cost Accounting: Establish and improve cost accounting systems, analyze product costs, and oversee inventory processes. Recommend changes to optimize margins and profits.
  • Special Projects: Assist in financial assessments for capital expenditures and investments, including risk/reward analyses.
  • Financial Reporting: Produce monthly financial statements and reports as required.
  • Internal Controls: Implement and monitor internal controls in collaboration with the General Manager, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Audit Support: Prepare work papers for year-end audit requirements.
  • Financial Guidance: Provide financial direction to staff, including budget management and oversight of accounting personnel.


Experience and requirements:

You're a curious problem solver who can bring big ideas to life. You're creative and scrappy but can navigate a large organization with ease. You're agile and adaptable but work with precision to ensure we always deliver top-notch customer experiences. You also have:



  • Bachelor's degree in a financial discipline from a four-year college/university.
  • Minimum of 3 years of previous experience as a controller manufacturing operation. Significant experience in the development, refinement, and maintenance of product costing and cost accounting processes in job and/or repetitive costing environments and the development of profitability analysis.
  • At least 2 years of prior budgeting, cash flow forecasting techniques, financial statement breakdown including key trends analysis, project costing techniques, financial controls, and business case study.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g. SyteLine, MS Dynamics, SAP, Infor M3,) preferred
