Position Summary

The College of Pharmacy is seeking a resourceful, dynamic, and experienced individual to fill the role of Senior Marketing Representative. As the successful candidate, you will develop and direct marketing campaigns on behalf of the College of Pharmacy. You will draft copy, proofs, and visual materials; manage print runs, publishing digital materials, and assist with special College events. You will raise awareness and improve engagement, helping to share the College of Pharmacy's story.

The successful candidate will be prompt, organized, and a self-sufficient learner who has a proven track of meeting deadlines. They will be able to interact with a variety of audiences in a professional manner with demonstrated emotional intelligence and cultural sensitivity. The exceptional candidate must be a self-starter with an ability to reason around problems, pursue goals relentlessly, and show initiative with minimal supervision but always remain open to feedback.

Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop, execute, and maintain a marketing plan with short and long-range goals and objectives for the College of Pharmacy in collaboration with college leadership and the Health Sciences Marketing and Communications office.
  • Liaison with the UNM Health and Health Sciences Marketing and Communications (MarCom) office; coordinate use of shared MarCom resources for College of Pharmacy activities and events, advocating for access and visibility for the College of Pharmacy amongst UNM marketing materials. May field assignments such as interviews for newsletters or social media posts from core offices.
  • Provide monthly metrics and demonstrate progress to meet quarterly benchmarks that demonstrate growth in interest, visibility, and engagement across marketing efforts, present to College leadership on latest marketing updates and activities.
  • Perform market research, generate SWOT analysis and run marketing surveys to help inform strategic objectives, e.g., supporting student recruitment, expanding PharmD enrollment, and the pharmacist workforce in New Mexico.
  • Provide support for in-person special events, including College ceremonies, development and fundraising events, academic conferences, student events, etc; capture activities for marketing (pictures, social media posts, etc.).
  • Generate graphic design assets with adherence to common design principles and quality standards. Applies knowledge of proper spacing, icons, fonts, vector vs raster, etc. Brand and logo compliance with UNM's standards is a must.
  • Story capture - Engage with stakeholders, documenting narratives, creating compelling content for promotional materials; distribute across various mediums including social media, web, email, brochures, media guides, programs, etc.
  • Develop and maintain vendor relationships, obtain quotes for promotional materials, marketing campaigns, or events from vendors, includes drafting timelines and deliverable expectations. Manage print runs and quality control deliverables.
  • Assess program effectiveness, user experiences across web and social platforms, measuring reach and impact across intended audiences, implement necessary changes for improvement in user experience/user interface (UX/UI).
  • Develop and manage annual marketing budget, ensuring proper monitoring of expenditures.
  • Serve as a public facing contact for marketing requests of the College of Pharmacy and maintain communication with University and College internal and external constituencies.
  • May serve on university planning and policy-making committees

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.



Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Dynamic and open personality that drives stakeholder engagement and collaboration
  • Skillset and experience with drafting, benchmarking, and maintaining a marketing plan.
  • Adobe Creative Cloud experience with skills in InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop
  • Photography and/or Videography
  • Knowledge and proven experience utilizing best practices and marketing strategies for recruiting, engagement growth, and user retention on social media platforms
  • Delivering detailed feedback to web teams on design and content improvements to reduce bounce rates and improve conversions
  • Social Media platforms like Hootsuite, Sprout Social, etc.
  • Experience in Higher Education
  • Project management and organizational alignment
