Position Summary
Bioinformatics is critical for the proper design of large omics data sets and for the analysis of the resulting data. This position requires the a researcher here with the capabilities of designing experiments through proper usage of statistics. It also will require the analysis of single cell omics datasets to study cell-cell communication.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

  • It is expected that the researcher will have five or more years experience in the field of bioinformatics in particular involving the use of advanced statistical methods.
  • Experience programming in Python and/or R is essential.

Duties/Responsibilities


Duties/Responsibilities

  • Research and analysis of data. Research will be conducted on the design of omics studies to enable batch correction. The research will also involve the analysis of protein-protein interactions and cell cell communication, using various omics data types.
  • Budgetary responsibility - the researcher will aid in the design of research studies and facilitate the disbursement of research funds for implementing such experiments involving protein interactions in cell-cell communication.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Deliverables - the researcher will write papers one protein interactions involving biologics or ligand-receptor pairs in cell-cell communication, along with bioinformatic study design. This will be funded by an NIH grant on the topic.
  • Writing manuscripts. Research will be written up on the design and use of omics data, and expected to be submitted to peer-reviewed journals. The researcher will also address reviewer comments until work is published.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Aid in grant writing. Proposals will be written on cell-cell communication in the context of biomedical research. The researcher will aid in these efforts.
  • Attend meetings with academic and research collaborators when the PI is not around.
