This role is remote with travel as needed in the United States. Opportunity for hybrid if individual resides near an RRX office.

Scope of leadership role

The Director, Business Development's primary responsibility is to accelerate the growth of orders in the Commercial Gearing business group, which is part of the Gearing Division within the Industrial Powertrain Systems (IPS) operating segment of Regal Rexnord. This role will lead a team expected to drive the creation of sales funnel opportunities by partnering with the external sales teams for our key products, focused on key industry verticals. Significant collaboration is expected with inside and outside sales teams to enable accelerated growth.

Internally within the Division, this role will provide leadership of funnel management, including funnel size, and driving speed through the funnel specifically in early stages of new or current customer growth. This role will regularly interact with Product Management, Commercial Operations, Marketing and Application Engineering to drive growth.

This position can be a remote or hybrid work arrangement depending on proximity to a Regal Rexnord office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and execute appropriate sales strategies, business development, marketing, technical, and sales support programs to maximize sales and profitability within Commercial Gearing.

  • Manage a team of Business Development associates with responsibility for orders growth of Commercial Gearing products into given markets, directly and/or indirectly through Regal Rexnord's Commercial Sales organization. This includes, but is not limited to: cross-selling to end users, distributors, contractors and market specific OEM's (globally and locally), delivering value propositions & technical product presentations, supporting customer visits & plant tours, webinars, and specification influence activities.

  • Work with designated key personnel to ensure coordination of overall market strategy. This includes, but is not limited to: Brand, Strategic Marketing, Product Management, Finance, Engineering and Design.

  • Develop and deliver monthly new business orders forecasts that can be used for SIOP planning.

  • Win and secure customer specification and preference for Regal Rexnord's Gearing portfolio in given markets.

  • Drive profitable share gains at key accounts, segments (Intralogistics, Food & Beverage, etc.), regions (e.g., North America), and/or with specific portions of the Regal Rexnord portfolio.

  • Coordinate and support share gain activities at top global strategic accounts. Identify prospects and support activities to grow share at new strategic accounts

  • Develop and support strategic relationships with key decision makers at identified high-growth/complex strategic end users

  • Establish effective relationships with key influencers related to projects utilizing gearing solutions as part of the project scope.

  • Capture Voice-of-Customer by identifying market problems via customer engagement and observation. Articulate market needs and champion ideas that solve customer problems as part of the New Product Development process.

  • Monitor customer and market trends and clearly communicate risks and opportunities to leadership team.

  • Gather detailed information about project opportunities, identify key decision-makers, understand strategic business challenges and priorities, and lead team in successful project and opportunity wins.

  • Cultivate business and market development growth opportunities by promoting value propositions to meet customer needs.

  • Provide product technical support to Sales, Key Account Managers, and channel partners

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications:
This position is subject to policies and procedures set forth by the State Department and applicants who do not meet such requirements will not be eligible for the position.

  • Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in an Engineering or Business-related degree

  • Minimum 10 years of related experience in engineering, sales, or similar commercial role within an industrial manufacturing organization.

  • Proven people leadership competencies is required, including strong leadership skills with the ability to communicate, interact, and influence at all levels of the organization to drive results.

  • Demonstrated success pursuing large capital project with typically long sales cycles

  • Demonstrated technical aptitude and ability to facilitate product training and effectively communicate features, benefits and advantages over the competition

  • Able and willing to travel an estimated 40 - 60%.

  • Strong negotiation skills including a demonstrated ability to negotiate positively for mutual agreement.

  • Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.

  • Solid experience interacting with both internal and external customers is required.

  • High level of personal initiative and ownership of business results, including the ability to work independently and remotely.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Previous people management experience.

  • Knowledge of 80/20 Methodology

  • Proficiency in CRM (SalesForce) and Power BI a plus

  • Understanding of Regal Rexnord's solutions

Pay Transparency - $150,000 to $200,000 base salary + variable compensation

Please note that compensation is based on a variety of factors when extending offer, including but not limited to, the role, responsibilities, market considerations, candidate experience, education, qualifications, and business considerations.
