Job Summary

Under supervision of the Assistant Registrar for Transfer Credit and Degree Audit, work with the Transfer Credit team to analyze and process transfer credit and maintaining transfer articulation/equivalency data. Works with other units such as Undergraduate Admissions and Academic departments to evaluate transfer credit requests, establish equivalencies to UC Davis courses and post credit to student records. Builds and maintains articulations and equivalencies data in Banner and TES. Understand transfer agreements, process flows, and how to implement corrections primarily in the student information database. Processes transfer credit for incoming and continuing undergraduate students and graduate students. Ensures the accuracy and integrity of transfer credit data in the student information system and related systems. Provide analysis and insight into procedures with the intent to increase efficiency and accuracy where possible. Support the ongoing articulation revision project and other initiatives to best serve UC Davis students and staff. Apply University, college, and departmental policies on transfer credit processing and articulations/equivalencies. Follow all regulations and practices involving the access to and handling of student records.

The scope of this position impacts all students who bring transfer credit to UC Davis. Responsibilities include engaging with State mandated articulation agreements, academic departmental decisions, and colleagues across campus to complete the work. Successful completion of responsibilities will further automate transfer credit processes and improve data integrity of the student information system (SIS). Additionally, the results will create more efficient transfer credit workflows for OUR staff, related faculty, and the advising community.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience working with relational database systems and computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and propriety/custom toolsets.
  • Experience with transfer credit evaluation and/or articulation.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve unique and unforeseen problems in a logical and creative manner while maintaining the integrity of defined policies and best practices.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills to professionally communicate in person, over the telephone, or electronically to express and elicit information from those with diverse cultural and professional backgrounds.
  • Ability to accurately interpret published information protected by State mandate.
  • Proficient data entry skills; ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced working environment with multiple, competing deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Banner or other student information system and CollegeSource's Transfer Evaluation System (TES).
  • Experience creating, removing, and editing transfer articulation data according to official agreements and departmental decisions.
  • Experience working with academic and advising personnel on transfer credit processes.
  • Experience with business process analysis and improvement.
  • Knowledge of federal, state laws including the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA) and applicable university policies.
