Job Summary:

As a Supervisor, Prepress Operations, you are responsible for all internal production operations of assigned areas, including efficient assignment of employees, the interrelation of departments for efficient workflow and ensures the production of the highest quality while meeting customer delivery requirements, while promoting a safe work environment: in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Essential Functions:



  • Reports to prepress leadership on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. Recommends solutions to productivity or product problems.
  • Directs manufacturing operations within assigned areas to achieve cost efficient production according to company standards for production output per week.
  • Responsible for the maintaining of plant property through enforcement of safety and housekeeping regulations and oversees routine preventive maintenance.
  • Develops cost saving methods and procedures within the areas of responsibility to reduce the amounts of waste of raw material.
  • Responsible for the training, developing and motivating of the support staff and employees of the assigned areas.
  • Provide weekly reports regarding the progress of departments focusing on quotas, backlogs, quality and rate per hour.
  • Maintain budget levels of staffing as well as forecast future needs.
  • Work with other departments and divisions to accomplish company objectives.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including strong customer service skills.
  • Must communicate appropriate information accurately and clearly as needed.
  • Demonstrated advanced proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Windows based databases.


Working Conditions/Physical Demands:



  • Required to sit, stand or walk for prolonged periods of time.
  • Use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects or use controls, tools or equipment.
  • May require the ability to use a keyboard and other office equipment.
  • May require specific vision abilities that include close vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.
  • May be required to perform concentrated work for extended periods of time.
  • May be required to lift, carry or exert items or objects of reasonable weight.
  • May be required to perform duties beyond standard business hours.


Minimum Requirements:



  • Bachelors degree in a related field and four years of related experience in prepress or press operations OR
  • Associate degree in a related field and six years of related experience in prepress or press operations OR
  • High School Diploma or GED and eight years of related experience in prepress or press operations.
