Flower Foods, Inc. is looking to add a talented Senior Bakery Scientist to our team! Title:Senior Bakery Scientist Salary Range:80,000 - 90,000/year Office Location:Thomasville, GA Travel: Requires travel up to 40% Job Summary: The bakery scientist will lead medium complexity R&D initiatives to improve shelf life, reduce ingredient costs, and improve efficiency in the bakeries. Position conducts bench-top experiments and commercializes at the bakery. Partners closely with Operations, Regulatory, Finance, Brand Team and Quality.Position requires formulations for new products, product improvements, and cost savings. This role requires a self-driven and motivated professional who is both adaptable and flexible in a fast-paced environment. You will need the ability to effectively proactively work on development projects while dealing with ambiguity and constant change.It also requires demonstration of competency for all on-the-job activities that may have a direct or indirect effect on product safety, legality and/or quality. * 5+ years' bakery industry R&D experience with technical knowledge in Product Development, Manufacturing, and/or Operations is preferred. Additional Ingredients: Essential Job Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Bakery Science, Culinology, Chemical Engineering or other closely related field. Master's degree preferred.
