POSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:

This position will perform functions for the shipping and receiving department including picking/packing, paperwork, and understanding of shipping requirements for multiple modes of transportation. This position will also be handling hazardous shipments and must be able to understand various shipping regulations as it relates to hazardous shipments. The individual is required to adhere to plant safety, quality, and environmental policies.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Accurately pick, pack and ship customer orders including documentation, labeling, BOL, accuracy of hazard identification and Export paperwork when required.
• Verify and process outbound shipment information with UPS, FedEx and other freight packages
• Knowledge of DOT and other regulatory requirements.
• Enter appropriate information into SAP
• Maintain shipping records
• Ability to file and process forms
• Neat and legible handwriting
• Operating knowledge of forklift trucks
• Working knowledge of material handling and stacking methods
• Ability to work with scanner/labeler system
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor or management

• 3+ years' experience in a production/manufacturing environment
• Must be computer literate with 1-3 years of SAP experience
• Must possess sound verbal and written communication skills
• Must have or be able to obtain HazMat certification for shipping
• Working knowledge of logistics, inventory control and stock methods
• High School diploma or GED required
• Good math aptitude
