We are currently accepting applications for a Manufacturing Engineer at our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Watertown, WI, conveniently located between Madison and Milwaukee. The position works day shift hours Monday - Friday and requires occasional after-hours and weekend support. Travel up to 10% to support other CQC sites, trade shows, and training can be expected. The role will report to the Engineering Manager.

JOB SUMMARY: Provide technical expertise to support the commissioning, startup and day to day operations of a food manufacturing facility. Design and execute capital projects to improve plant performance, capabilities and capacity. Work with multiple engineering disciplines to ensure complete and efficient execution of projects in support of plant operations. Ensures all jobs are performed following all company and regulatory policies. Provides training to production employees.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Lead continuous improvement projects in manufacturing such as increasing capacity, decreasing cycle time, improving maintenance reliability, and improving methods of producing products.
  • Design, plan and execute small to medium sized capital and productivity projects to support company growth within approved budget, scope and timeline.
  • Provide equipment and process startup support to operation and maintenance staff including SOP development and technical training.
  • Utilize OEE measurements to prioritize improvement opportunities.
  • Draft and design equipment layouts
  • Perform time studies and assist management on design changes to reduce cost and increase efficiency in the manufacturing process.
  • Provide input to the capital and conceptual planning and prioritization process.
  • Responsible for supervision of contractors.
  • Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, documents, and provides regular updates to manager.
  • Travel to other CQC facilities, vendors, tradeshows, and/or training.
  • Perform all tasks assigned by the supervisor, while following all company, safety, and quality policies and procedures.
  • Maintain regular attendance at work.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of project engineering or manufacturing experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook (Project)
  • Proficient use of computer aided engineering software, such as AutoCAD (Mechanical, Plant3D, Inventor)
  • Knowledge of production processes and manufacturing principles.
  • Must have acceptable driving record and valid driver's license
  • Experience in food manufacturing is a plus
  • Experience or certifications in LEAN or Six Sigma is a plus
  • Knowledge of PLC's and PC-based controllers is a plus.
