The Category Manager is an individual contributor role that leads the software licensing vendor management strategy for Technology under the direction of the Sr. Manager. This role is responsible for contributing to the Vendor Management Office's annual vision, strategy, execution and management goals. In addition to internal Technology teams, this position collaborates with business partners like Legal, Enterprise Architecture, Indirect Procurement, Financial Planning & Analysis, Third Party Risk Management, and Security teams regarding vendor management strategy for the software licensing and maintenance category.

What you will do:

  • Conduct quarterly business assessments and create executive reports and/or presentations as needed
  • Manage supplier scorecards to include metrics to grade software and services quality, deliverables / milestone attainment, total cost, supplier risks, etc.
  • Coordinate with Technology departments to structure relationships, and drive accountability with vendors.
  • Collaborate with Technology's Sr. Manager of VMO to align category management strategy with the vendor oversight strategy to deliver cost savings, cost avoidance, and risk mitigation.
  • Process and/or oversee procure-to-pay activities and contract execution
  • Mastery of both internal variables (requirements gathering, organizational priorities, etc.) and external variables (market cost drivers, commodity trends, etc.) of the software procure-to-pay cycle.

What we expect of you:

  • Bachelor's degree and 7 years of category management, vendor management, contract administration, or technology project/program experience and 1 year of management experience, OR 11 years of category management, vendor management, contract administration, or technology project/program experience and 1 year of management experience.
  • Prior experience leading complex cross-functional sourcing teams, end-to-end category strategies, and developing supplier scorecards and vendor oversight KPIs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage complex, cross-functional vendor relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently organize and prioritize work.
  • Strong people management skills (motivating and influencing others).
  • Ability to read and interpret financials, analyze metrics, and translate data into insights.
  • Demonstrated category and procure-to-pay expertise with the ability to mentor other team members, a plus.
  • Track record of keen negotiation skills with large-scale, multi-year enterprise software engagements, a plus.
  • Certification as CTPRP, CPSM, CPSD, or PMP, a plus.
  • Peoplesoft (eProcurement & Accounts Payable), Workday, and Agiloft application experience is a plus

Pay range: $120,000.00 - $170,000.00, depending on experience and skill set
