Responsibilities



  • Proficiently use primary Estimating Tools to generate pricing and client proposals.
  • Ability to estimate proprietary GES Rental systems and Graphics Depot services, as well as simple construction, prefabricated simple structures, or sub-contracted services.
  • Solid knowledge of GES Rental systems offerings, finishes, Inventory locations, and product limitations. This includes GEM, ASW, Decks, DEXZ, iCE, and Rental Counters.
  • Ability to determine appropriate materials and GES vendors; Ability to determine production labor requirements with accuracy.
  • Provide background pricing data and vendor quotes and attend PTW meetings. Clearly download information to Project Managers, AMs, and other project team members.
  • Collaborate with PMs and AMs in the creation, authoring, and pricing of Change Orders as required.
  • Ability to work independently and estimate medium to large size projects without supervision and minimal/no guidance.
  • Ability to communicate and work closely with Designers, Sales, AMs, PMs, Pricing Analysts, Production personnel, Management
  • Understanding of TRACE Inventory management system and ability to price out associated costs.
  • Readily see and offer cost-effective materials substitutions and alternative construction methods and solutions. Exhibit value-engineering expertise. Offer and discuss options with Sales and Design.
  • Strong proficiency in estimating all aspects of expanded service offerings across all GES lines of business, and possess an exceptional ability to analyze provided information, extract achievable solutions, and provide accurate pricing proposals.
  • Lead the design/pricing process; coordinate with internal customers, sub-contractors, and vendors, and interact with Clients. Perform additional functions above and beyond normal estimating scope.
  • Ability to perform the Lead Estimator role on RFP projects, define and organize multiple solution formats, lead project teams, and assure adherence to timelines and RFP requisites.
  • Serve as a mentor for/and assist in further developing Estimators and Junior Estimators. Share technical expertise with associates.
  • Desire personal and professional growth by staying abreast of industry trends, new materials, and services, and strive to improve day-to-day processes, practices, and tools.
  • Facilitate collaboration across business units and internal cross-functional disciplines such as Operations, Finance, and Sales Management, Support GES Tradeshow, Events, Marketing, AV, and International Teams.
  • Follow-up with Sales, Project Managers, and Account Managers on actuals project performance. Calibrate Estimating methods if required.
  • Support and defend positive margins performance and cost savings; Adhere to GES established Pricing procedures.
  • For projects 200 sf (+), provide accurate Hours estimates for Installation and Dismantle labor as performed by ExpoServices, including associated Show Maintenance, Flooring labor, wipe-down, and properties handling.
  • Accurately record Estimating participation in projects on a daily basis.
  • Pull Highline Reports indicating Pre-sale hours efforts by Indirect Labor centers. Communicate with creative and AM resources for unposted efforts. Capture all expended hours accurately in Estimates.
  • Solid knowledge of the GES Graphics Depot network and capabilities, including Outsourced services.
  • Knowledge of assembly requirements for prefabricated purchased structures such as tension fabric, flooring, and packaging solutions.
  • Promote and protect the community perception of the GES Corporate Accounts Estimating network.

  • Graduate of Technical School or College with a construction-related focus
  • Construction, Project Management, or estimating experience
  • Ability to read CAD drawings, renderings, and visualize 3-dimensionally
  • Creative problem-solving Skills
  • Basic familiarity with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Outlook, Word)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Minimum 2+ years of workplace Estimating experience
  • Full knowledge of GES proprietary GES products and services
  • Strong Analytical, relationship, and teamwork skills; Self-starter
  • Working knowledge of GES Pricing Tools, LOBs, GES production processes and capabilities.
  • Ability to estimate Labor hours for Installation and Dismantle of Tradeshow environments and Permanent Installations.
  • Estimated Project $1mm
  • Truss, lighting, electrical and av experience would be beneficial for this position.
