The Credit & Collections Lead is an integral member of the Collections Team. This position is responsible for supervising, monitoring, and providing leadership in the reduction of delinquency in the credit file. The Credit & Collections Lead ensures compliant, timely collections by members of the Credit & Collections Department while also providing and exhibiting leadership qualities.

Responsibilities of Position:



  • Exhibit a broad knowledge in Credit and Collection and Customer Service call center services as well as Hauling Operations, Accounts Receivable and Billing.
  • Balance multiple projects effectively and recommend systemic improvements.
  • Oversee training and development programs for new hires and existing employees
  • Implement performance standards and monitor performance goals.
  • Perform call monitoring of associates to ensure call compliance standards are met
  • Assist in hiring process for new personnel.
  • Delivering performance improvement plans
  • Initiate strategies for collection processes and procedures.
  • Assist on escalated calls.
  • Prepare and distribute Collection metric reporting.
  • Develop benchmark and measurement tools to set expectations and assess departmental and individual performance to establish proper goal setting.
  • Collection agency placement strategy recommendations.
  • Ad hoc reporting.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Strong understanding of Credit and Collection production metrics.
  • Problem-solving skills, interpersonal skills, and ability to develop working relationships with peers and business leaders within the company.
  • High degree of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality and trust around sensitive data.
  • Strong written, and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to motivate staff and deal effectively with performance issues to meet standards.
  • Ability to successfully coach and develop associates.
  • Possess a professional demeanor and telephone etiquette.



Physical Requirements in a Regular workday:



  • Occasionally lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 10lbs.
  • Continuously sitting/standing/walking in office environment.



Additional Working Conditions/Aspects:



  • Ability to travel between offices, as required.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends and/or holidays.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Valid driver's license (if applicable).
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment testing.
  • Must be able to read and speak the English language.

Qualifications
Education
High School (required)
General Education Diploma (preferred)
Experience
Knowledge of laws and regulations covering credit and collection activities. (required)
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. (required)
3 - 5 years: Previous call center experience. (required)
Prior Supervisor or Leadership Experience. (preferred)
