The Role:

Bally's Corporation is seeking a talented individual to help maintain and transform our iSeries enterprise. The ideal candidate has experience in architecting, implementing, and supporting iSeries systems. The position will require creative thinking, problem solving, and well thought out design architecture to implement innovative solutions.

Responsibilities:



  • Responsible for system backups utilizing tape storage, and iTera/MIMX technologies.
  • Maintaining the iSeries operating systems (OS) by installing cumulative & HYPER PTF packages.
  • Experienced in utilizing both native iSeries OS commands and IBMi Access/Navigator to manage systems.
  • Execute periodic refreshes in a multiple LPAR Lab/Dev environment.
  • Develop, maintain, and test a disaster recovery switchover plans from local data center to the high availability data center.
  • Notifying/coordinating IBM support when service events occur.
  • Work with IBM business partner on Level II & III service events.
  • Plan and execute technology refreshes to keep systems current with industry technologies.
  • Maintain job scheduling and monitor jobs for successful completion.
  • Direct experience with Object Level Security, IFS Security, Group Profiles, Authorization Lists, Security System values.
  • Work with Bally Technical Support personnel to resolve Level II Help Desk tickets which require advanced skill sets.
  • Implement modern best practices for development on the iSeries platform. Transform our current development standards and practices to utilize modern techniques.



Qualifications:



  • 8+ years in IBMi administration, including troubleshooting and maintenance of environments running the IBMi OS on Power-based hardware (Power 8/10 and higher).
  • Experienced with hardware management consoles (HMC) and LPAR configurations.
  • Experience managing DB2 databases and supporting external storage arrays in the role of an iSeries Administrator
  • High standards for service to users/customers and be team oriented
  • Strong Analytical and Problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal presentation, and organizational communication skills.
  • Organization and time management skills.

Target Salary Range:



  • $100,000 Annual Salary

Bachelors of Information Technology (preferred)
Experience
IBM Certified Specialist (preferred)
Experience with iSeries-based gaming and hotel/finance systems (preferred)
Experience with either Access Client Solutions (ACS), DBU, Rational Developer, SpoolFlex, Cleo (EDI), PowerHA (HA solution), BRMS, iTera, or BSAFE. (required)
8 years: Experience in IBMi administration, including troubleshooting and maintenance of environments running the IBMi OS on Power-based hardware (Power 8/10 and higher). (required)
